Overview

The University Occupational Health Services (OHS) provides work-related medical services for faculty, staff, and employees of the university with the goal of preventing and minimizing health risks at the university.

What You'll Do

This is a full-time, 40hr/week, in-person position located in Boston, MA at 1.0 FTE
Provides occupational health nursing services to faculty and staff to minimize lost time and to keep employees physically and mentally able to perform their jobs. Services are provided under the supervision of the Associate Director OHS and University Infection Control Health Director. Observes, promotes, and ensures adherence to safety, security, and industrial hygiene rules and protocols. Collaborates with university stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of health services. Supports University Infection Control Health Director in working with external consultants to develop and execute University's long-term occupational health and safety vision.
  • Provides nursing services focused on prevention of employee injuries and illnesses. Provides first aid, vaccinations, phlebotomy, health screening, and health information.
  • Maintains accurate clinical records, utilizing approved medical, nursing, and statistical formats, including computer technology. Ensures a high level of confidentiality and sensitivity to inquiries and access to personal medical records and information.
  • Provides answers to questions posed about COVID-19, influenza, and other infectious diseases, and refers to appropriate resources.
  • Notifies incident/accident to all concerned according to established guidelines, referring work related injury/illness cases to Worker's Compensation resources.

What We're Looking For

Basic Requirements:
Knowledge and experience typically acquired by:
  • Bachelor's Degree Knowledge and skills as typically acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree in nursing and 3 -5 years of experience
  • Occupational health nursing experience
  • Experience working with diverse populations
  • Massachusetts Nurse License
  • Knowledge of Massachusetts Worker's Compensation law, HIPAA, OSHA, ADA and FMLA
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • Infectious disease nursing experience
  • Case management experience
  • Broad-based knowledge of occupational health and general nursing practices, procedures, and protocols
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, and electronic medical record systems
  • Additional medical certifications

Pay Range

Minimum $79,600.00, Midpoint $99,600.00, Maximum $119,500.00

Salary is based on related experience, expertise, and internal equity; generally, new hires can expect pay between the minimum and midpoint of the range.
