Engineering Project Manager

WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:

  • The Engineering Project Manager interacts and collaborates with many internal functions including Product Management, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply, Sales and Marketing.

  • The role also supports external customers, engineers, channel-partners, and end-users with the accurate selection, and application of nVent Calmark and Birtcher products.

  • Work closely with Sales and Proposal Specialists to prepare product specifications and quotes.

  • Support Proposal team and prepare quotes for customers.

  • Customer technical support for performance, application, design, and quality related questions.

  • Lead medium to large customer projects from Development to Deployment.

  • Coordinate activities between customer, Sales, Engineering, Planning, Purchasing, Operations, and Quality.

  • Leads internal and customer project meetings.

  • Prepare customized product overview drawings for customers.

  • Manage change notifications from customers and build Engineering Change Requests as needed.

  • Review and submit customer deviation requests.

YOU HAVE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar required.

  • Ideally 5+ years of related experience.

  • 2+ years of Project management experience; PMP certification preferred

  • Ability to manage and prioritize projects and customer requests.

  • Knowledge of Engineering Processes (ECO's, Product Development, and Bill of Materials).

  • A broad scope of knowledge in many manufacturing processes and subject areas, including but not limited to mechanical design, drawings, drafting standards, and CAD.

  • Ability to review and understand technical requirements and documents.

  • Proficient technical writing as well as good written and verbal communications skills.

  • Ability to create and present technical product presentations in front of customers.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Our San Diego, CA facility is an ITAR controlled site. All candidates must be a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15.

Pay Transparency

nVent's pay scale is based on the expected range of base pay for this job and the employee's work location. Employee pay within this range will be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance. Where federal, state, or local minimum wage requirements exist, employee pay will comply.

Compensation Range:

$98,200.00 - $182,300.00

Depending on the position offered, employee may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as annual incentives.
