Stellar Solutions is seeking a Test and Evaluation Engineer to support the modernization of position, navigation, and timing systems by developing and evaluating test strategies for next-generation GPS receivers. In this role, you will work closely with U.S. Air Force personnel to translate real-world operational needs into disciplined test planning, execution oversight, and reporting that drives reliable capability delivery. The work environment is collaborative, mission-focused, and paced by customer priorities and test milestones.



Role/Responsibilities/Qualifications

As a test engineer on this team, you will support the development and evaluation of test plans and procedures for next-generation GPS receivers, ensuring requirements are mapped to executable test approaches and results are captured in decision-quality products. You will contribute across systems engineering, integration, and test activities, supporting readiness reviews, monitoring test execution, and collaborating with government, FFRDC partners, and other stakeholders to deliver sustained GPS capability.

Key responsibilities include:

    Develop, review, and refine DoD test plans, procedures, and reports to support Test and Evaluation activities

  • Map requirements to test plans and, where applicable, automated test scripts

  • Prepare and support test readiness reviews, including assembling data and briefing materials

  • Support integration and test activities for space systems, contributing to planning and execution alignment

  • Monitor test activities and evaluate test procedures and execution for quality, completeness, and mission relevance

  • Coordinate across cross-functional teams spanning systems engineering, integration, and test to drive task execution

  • Collaborate with government clients, FFRDC partners, and other teammates to achieve program goals

  • Use Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams to develop test artifacts and communicate status

  • Apply Kanban board practices to manage work execution and visibility

  • Interpret GPS receiver interface control documents and technical requirements documents to inform test strategy

  • Support travel-based test activities within the U.S. to meet client needs

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience supporting DoD Test and Evaluation activities, including development or review of test plans, procedures, and reports

  • 5+ years of experience mapping requirements to test plans or automated test scripts and preparing test readiness reviews and test report data

  • 5+ years of experience in Integration and Test on space systems

  • Knowledge of military GPS systems and technologies

  • Ability to comprehend GPS receiver interface control documents and GPS technical requirements documents

  • Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams, and using a Kanban board

  • Ability to participate in cross-functional team meetings and execute tasks collaboratively and independently, demonstrating initiative to complete complex tasks

  • Ability to communicate and establish collaborative relationships with government clients, FFRDC organizations, and other teammates to achieve program goals

  • Ability to travel up to 15% of the time

  • Secret clearance

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering, mathematics, computer science, or technology field

Desired Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience with a software program utilizing Agile methodologies

  • Experience working with a GPS satellite simulator

  • Experience planning, executing, and reporting on Lead Developmental Test Organization or Operational Test Authority organization activities

  • TS/SCI clearance

  • Master's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or Computer Science

  • ITEA Certified Test and Evaluation Professional certification or other test and evaluation professional certification

Clearance & Additional Requirements

  • Secret clearance is required
  • Ability to travel within the U.S. up to 15% to accommodate client needs

This position is located in El Segundo, CA

Compensation:

The typical salary range for this position is USD $85,000 - $120,000 per year. Individual pay is determined by many factors including work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual performance bonus, retirement plan and other benefits (all in addition to salary).



Deliverable(s)

Deliverables will be in the format of reports, briefings, spreadsheets, or other documents as directed by the Government, using government approved and/or mandated systems/software and processes governed by guidance/instructions/policy or direction.
