Title: Senior IT Auditor Location: Remote in Texas (Quarterly travel to Houston) Type: 5month W2 contract with potential extension Overview A Texas-based financial institution is looking for a Senior IT Auditor to support ongoing audit initiatives during a period of growth. This role leads and executes technology-focused audits across IT, Information Security, and operational areas, with a strong emphasis on risk assessment, ITGC/SOX testing, and SAS environment auditing. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced auditor who enjoys autonomy, impactful work, and collaborating with Senior leadership in a fast-growing environment. Top Skills & Requirements Must Have: * 4+ years of IT Audit experience (financial services strongly preferred) * Bachelor's degree in IS, Technology, MIS, or related field * Active certification (CISA, CIA, CISSP, CISM, or equivalent) * Strong proficiency with IT risk frameworks * Hands-on IT audit experience in a SAS environment * ITGC/SOX testing experience * IT Operations testing (building audit programs & execution) * Exposure to digital/data analytics * Must live in Texas, with quarterly onsite travel to Houston * AuditBoard experience is a major plus Responsibilities Audit Planning & Execution * Lead or contribute to risk assessments and planning for IT and security-focused audits * Scope and develop audit engagements with business/IT leaders * Evaluate control design, identify key risks, and refine work programs as needed * Perform data extracts and assess system integrity, compliance, and reliability Reporting & Communication * Present findings to leadership with clear, actionable recommendations * Track remediation efforts and ensure timely resolution * Deliver well-structured reports and presentations tailored to stakeholders Team Leadership & Collaboration * Provide coaching, oversight, and review for lessexperienced auditors and external vendors * Support internal knowledge sharing and training initiatives Vendor & Co-Sourced Audit Support * Assist with coordination of co-sourced audits (e.g., IT ops, vulnerability testing, penetration testing) Continuous Improvement * Identify opportunities to enhance internal audit processes * Maintain compliance with required training and regulatory obligations Why This Role Is Open The organization is undergoing growth through mergers and acquisitions and is adding contractor support due to increased audit volume. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Houston, TX. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $55.00 - $65.00/hr.
