Job Description




As a Security Officer - Part-Time Armed Patrol in Queens, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a strong visible presence to help discourage security-related incidents, and respond to concerns with calm, clear communication. You will document observations, work closely with site personnel, and deliver customer service that reflects our agile, reliable, innovative, people-first culture built on teamwork and integrity.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to the public and site personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government transportation location.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of stations, platforms, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter areas; remain alert for unusual activity and conditions that may help to deter prohibited behavior.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disturbances, medical calls, and/or suspicious items; request assistance from law enforcement and/or emergency services as needed.
  • Carry and maintain authorized firearms and related equipment in accordance with licensing requirements, post orders, and Allied Universal policies; follow all use of force guidelines and complete required training and/or qualifications.
  • Complete detailed reports and logs, preserve incident information and evidence when appropriate, and communicate professionally with site management, local authorities, and Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Possess a Law Enforcement Officer License.
  • An Armed Guard Card or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
