Receiving/Inventory Clerk I - Bar Harbor

Get your career started and join our Bar Harbor campus in entry level Receiving/Inventory Clerk!Performingmanual and electronic data entry as well all necessary clerical duties related to shipping, receiving, recording, inspecting, storing, stocking inventory, and delivering a variety of materials, equipment and supplies to various departments.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30 - 4:00 pm, working daily on the Bar Harbor, Maine campus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Unloads and receives incoming materials, checks for damaged and (or) biological items as the truck is unloaded. Sort and prioritize incoming packages. Deliver package to end user if required.

  • Ship goods out; determine method of shipment utilizing knowledge of DOT and IATA regulations, routes, and rates, insure package when appropriate. Prepare material for shipping by weighing, packaging, stamping, and prepare necessary shipping forms such as bills of lading and international declarations forms either manually or by using computerized shipping systems.

  • Responsible for tracking, entering, and researching information in various computerized systems, including track pad, UPS, FedEx and in the Lawson Receiving and Inventory systems.

  • Understand and follow safety rules and regulations, keep logs and paperwork required to handle bio-hazardous material, chemicals, gases, controlled substances, liquid nitrogen, and alcohol.

  • Maintains internal stockrooms and storage inventory, prepares on-line requisitions for inventory re-stocking. Reviews inventory item and item prices with manager and suppliers. Receive items into computerized inventory system, stocks shelves, and take physical inventory counts. Fills orders and issues material per requests, documents transactions appropriately. Keep logs of certain materials as required by Federal, State or Laboratory regulations.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma with at least 1 year of work experience

  • With or without assistance, must be able to exert 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects and job-related materials and/or equipment.

  • Providing great customer service to internal customers and external suppliers

  • Proficient computer skills and ability to learn computer applications for Receiving & Lab Store, presenting in a positive manner through appearance, attitude, and behavior.

  • Good judgment in dealing with people and issues, ability to know which situations to handle and which ones to refer to a more experience member of the team.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with others to exchange information clearly and effectively.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to organize time effectively and demonstrated ability to manage details.
