Overview

The Maintenance Mechanic Trainee supports the maintenance team in ensuring all production equipment, tools, and facility systems operate safely and efficiently. This entry-level position is designed to develop hands-on skills in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems within a fast-paced truss and wall panel manufacturing environment.

This role is ideal for someone mechanically inclined who is eager to learn industrial maintenance in a manufacturing setting.

What You'll Do:
  • Assist senior maintenance technicians with troubleshooting and repairing production equipment

  • Perform preventative maintenance on saws, presses, conveyors, pneumatic systems, and automated equipment

  • Help diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues

  • Learn to read blueprints, schematics, and equipment manuals

  • Support welding and fabrication repairs as needed

  • Maintain tools, parts inventory, and maintenance records

  • Assist with facility maintenance including lighting, air compressors, and building systems

  • Follow all safety policies and lockout/tagout procedures

  • Participate in training programs to develop technical skills

  • High school diploma or GED required

  • Trade school coursework, technical certification, or mechanical experience preferred

  • Basic understanding of mechanical systems and hand tools

  • Willingness to learn electrical troubleshooting and industrial controls

  • Strong work ethic and dependability

  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in a manufacturing environment

  • Comfortable working at heights or in tight spaces when needed

  • Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset

Growth Opportunity

This position is designed as a development role with a clear path toward becoming a Maintenance Technician. Successful trainees will gain hands-on experience, formal training, and advancement opportunities within the company.

Starting this position at $17.50/hr


Responsibilities

Perform regularly scheduled maintenance of all equipment/machinery.

Maintain equipment/machinery within tolerance of quality standards.

Train operators on correct operating and maintenance procedures.

Audit daily checks.

Maintain safe work/machine environment


Qualifications

Able to read and write in their primary language.

Able to stand for long periods of time.

Able to lift 50 pounds.
