Production Support

Position Description:

Performs entry level, production labor support to other manufacturing team members/departments as needed. All work duties are performed under the direction and supervision of the department supervisor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Receives work assignments from Shop Supervisor and discusses job to minimize questions about what is to be done.
• Primary duty will be the insulating of steel and aluminum tank trailers.
• Ability to learn how to operate welding equipment and related equipment to perform weld procedures, which ensure proper weld size, weld penetration, fit-up and appearance.
• Uses devices (jigs) to maintain correct positioning.
• Ability to learn methods of grinding welds, deburr rough metal, produce various finishes on metal.
• Performs rework as required to ensure completeness and compliance with established specifications.
• Coordinates with other employees to ensue needed materials are in the work area.
• Uses hand tools as required.
• Follows established safety procedures and policies at all times.
• Maintains clean, orderly work area to minimize safety hazards.
• Performs other duties as apparent or assigned.
• Demonstrates ability to work in a cooperative manner with others.

This job operates in a professional office environment in which presenteeism is required. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

An employee in this position works in an environment in which safety, environmental and health concerns may demand constant attention. Strict adherence to Corporate and/or Plant policies, rules, and regulations in these areas is required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
