Job Description

FIS Management Services, LLC seeks Software Engineer Seniors - Java/Cloud Technologies in Jacksonville, FL to design, develop, and maintain scalable and high-performance applications using Java and Spring Boot. Architect and implement microservices-based solutions deployed on cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and on premises. Build automations to simplify operations and processes, collaborate with cross-functional teams to create proactive engineering mechanisms and ensure positive end user experiences. Apply sound engineering principles, operational discipline, and mature automation to our operating environments and the codebase. Build software solutions and systems to manage platform infrastructure and applications. Partner with development teams to improve services through rigorous testing and release procedures. Participate in system design consulting, platform management, and capacity planning. Improve reliability, quality, and time-to-market of our suite of software solutions. Build monitoring that alerts on symptoms rather than on outages. Run the production environment by monitoring availability and taking a holistic view of system health. Measure and optimize system performance, with an eye toward pushing our capabilities forward, getting ahead of customer needs, and innovating to continually improve. Provide primary operational support and engineering for multiple large, distributed software applications. Gather and analyze metrics from both operating systems and applications to assist in performance tuning and fault finding. Create sustainable systems and services through automation and uplifts. Balance feature development speed and reliability with well-defined service level objectives. Partner with stakeholders to design and deliver a reliable, scalable, secure, and performant platform. Stay current on technical trends to suggest innovative tools and approaches to problems. Perform a proactive approach to spotting problems, areas for improvement, and performance bottlenecks. Identify and resolve problems promptly to meet and improve service levels and standards.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or a related occupation: maintaining and optimizing large-scale system to SREs (Site Reliability Engineering) to apply knowledge to real-world scenarios; working with various tools and technologies including cloud platforms, containerization, and automation frameworks to ensure that SREs can manage and improve system reliability from initiation; managing incidents and outages to diagnose issues, implement fixes, and prevent future occurrences, minimizing downtime and impact on users; working in cross-functional teams; and identifying inefficiencies and implementing process improvements to gather insights from past roles streamlining operations and enhancing system performance.
