Description

MaineHealth Cancer Care is seeking a part-time Hematologist to join the Division of Hematology and Medical Oncology at its South Portland location. This position is focused on inpatient care, including supervision of a hematology-focused inpatient teaching service and participation in the hematology consult service. The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues in an established hematology and medical oncology practice affiliated with Maine Medical Center-Portland, a tertiary referral center for the MaineHealth Cancer Care Network. MaineHealth is a nationally recognized integrated care system that delivers highly coordinated, state-of-the-art, cancer and hematology care across a network that cares for over 8000 new cancer patients each year. The cancer and hematology programs have grown significantly over the past three years and exceed 80% market share across the state of Maine. The programs are academically affiliated with the Tufts University School of Medicine and include a fellowship training program as well as robust clinical and translational research efforts, with membership in both NCORP and the NCI cooperative groups. Prior experience in hematology within an academic health system or academically oriented private practice is preferred, although strong candidates in the early stages of their careers will be considered.
