Your Job

Guardian Glass is looking for a Process Engineer at our Carleton Michigan Float Glass facility. We offer a unique culture that focuses on results and rewarding employees for their commitment to excellence.

What You Will Do

  • Utilizing SPC, statistical methods and data analysis to improve production processes including enhancements in yield, lowering costs and increasing manufacturing up time
  • Assisting in new product development and maximizing manufacturing capabilities
  • Leading complex projects in a team-based environment taking advantage of your excellent relationship building and communication skills
  • Utilizing continuous improvement methodologies to facilitate process improvements and teach others
  • Working with customers to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions (up to 10% travel can be expected)
  • Training production operators and working collaboratively with them to improve processes
  • Opportunity to develop expertise in float processes and equipment to support troubleshooting and process improvements

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • A Bachelor's degree in Material Science, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Ceramic Engineering, or a related STEM degree plus 3 years' of manufacturing experience OR in lieu of a Bachelor's degree, a minimum 3 years' experience as a Process Engineer in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience operating or supporting production processes in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to utilize statistical methods and data analysis to improve production processes
  • Experience working with customers to identify root causes of quality issues and implement corrective actions

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience driving process improvements by collaborating across multiple organizational levels and disciplines
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities and the ability to work autonomously on assigned projects
  • 3+ years as a process engineer in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience leading 8Ds to help root cause problems and put corrective actions in place
