Job Description

What You Will Do:


We are seeking an experienced Manager of Contracts Administration to lead our contracts' lifecycle management function. In this position, you will be responsible for overseeing the contracts administration team and for contract development, review, negotiation, support, and compliance. The ideal candidate will combine strong analytical skills, legal and regulatory knowledge, and leadership capability to ensure contracts align with company objectives and mitigate risk.


This onsite position with potential hybrid flexibility is located at our headquarters in Oak Creek, WI. You will report to the Vice President of Contracts Administration.



How You Will Do It:



  • Lead and manage the contracts administration team, providing direction, mentorship, and performance oversight.
  • Oversee the full contract lifecycle, including drafting, review, redlining, negotiation, execution, amendment, renewal, and closeout.
  • Ensure all requests for proposals are reviewed and analyzed for contractual terms before submission.
  • Manage the submission and negotiation of terms and conditions for new contracts.
  • Provide input on pricing strategies and negotiations for new customer and supplier contracts.
  • Oversee the preparation, negotiation, and management of various agreement types, including sales representative, non-disclosure, software, teaming, and subcontractor agreements, in addition to customer contracts.
  • Assist in administering the export compliance program.
  • Ensure compliance with laws and regulations applicable to Astronautics' contractual relationships.
  • Monitor key contract obligations, deliverables, and deadlines to ensure performance and compliance.
  • Identify contractual risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to align contract terms with business objectives.
  • Review supplier subcontracts to ensure proper flow-down requirements and risk mitigation.
  • Develop and maintain contract templates and standard operating procedures.
  • Implement and manage contract management systems and digital recordkeeping processes.
  • Support audits and internal reviews related to contractual obligations.
  • Provide reporting and analysis on contract performance and risk exposure.


What We Look For:


Required:



  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Legal Studies, or another related field.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in contracts administration, subcontract management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of two years of direct people leadership experience.
  • Strong knowledge of contract law principles and commercial terms.
  • Knowledge of FAR and DFARS regulations, with the ability to clearly explain them to team members and internal stakeholders.
  • Experience reviewing and negotiating customer agreements, both commercial and U.S. government.
  • Experience working within U.S. export regulations, including ITAR and EAR.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% as needed.
  • Must be a U.S. person as defined under ITAR.
  • Must be able to work on U.S. government programs and obtain a security clearance, as required for future work.


Preferred:



  • MS, MBA, or JD.
  • Experience with complex electronic systems in the avionics field for both commercial and defense applications.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and procurement processes.
