Job Description

Puget Sound Energy has set an aspirational goal of being a Beyond Net Zero Carbon energy company by 2045, inline with our "north star" of being our customers' energy partner of choice. Our first major milestone is 2030, which we'll reach by executing the PSE 2030 strategic plan. We have built this strategy as an input to our broader Clean Energy Implementation Plan (CEIP), which shapes the roadmap for achieving both our 2030 and 2045 clean energy goals.



Process Excellence transforms how PSE works by continuously identifying and implementing process design and improvements that optimize resource utilization, reduce costs, and deliver impressive customer experiences. We seek a manager to lead the evolution of the Process Excellence team.



As a critical part of the newly established Transformation Strategy and Enablement (TSE) group, Process Excellence joins teams focused on aligning strategy, benchmarking, performance, process, people, and training to improve delivery for customers, employees, and shareholders. Process Excellence connects long-term strategy with optimized daily execution of PSE's business plan.



As Manager of Process Excellence, you'll lead a team that drives cross-functional improvement initiatives in collaborations with stakeholders, process owners, and other departments. Types of engagements for this team include:



  • Leading process improvement projects;
  • Facilitating process improvement meetings;
  • Coaching team through process improvement methodologies; and
  • Providing guidance on standard process improvement templates and guidelines.

Job Responsibilities

Safety & Team Leadership



  • Champion safety culture and ethical standards across all operations.
  • Set performance expectations and drive accountability for business results.
  • Develop talent through coaching, feedback, and strategic staffing decisions.
  • Build team capabilities and utility industry expertise.



Measurable Business Outcomes and Continuous Improvement



  • Drive continuous improvement through data-driven process optimization and strengthening enterprise capability for leading this change.
  • Establish and implement process excellence standards across the enterprise.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives to enhance work planning and resource allocation.
  • Deliver scalable solutions aligned with strategic objectives.



Strategic Partnership



  • Build influential relationships across the organization to advance process improvements in cost management, performance efficiency, ownership alignment, and other high-priority areas.
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Performance Management, Organizational Change Management, Transformation Strategy, and Operational Training teams to ensure smooth execution of PSE strategic plan.
  • Leverage market intelligence and competitive insights to inform team direction.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business management, engineering, operations management, or other related field; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Ten (10) years of experience in project management, business management, program management, consulting, industrial engineering, or other related field.
  • Five (5) years of experience in operations, process improvement, and/or customer service.
  • Demonstrated experience and passion for continuous process improvement, data integrity, and organizational change management.
  • Knowledge and understanding of technology concepts in conjunction with business considerations.
  • Strong leadership, mentorship, and coaching skills.
  • Strong skills in MS Office suite and enterprise business systems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written, at all levels of an organization.
  • Strong problem solving, organization, and analytical skills.
  • Adept at multi-tasking and working within a matrix organization structure.

Desired Qualifications

  • Master's degree in business, economics, finance, or other related field.
  • Experience with Kaizen, Lean Six Sigma, or other equivalent process improvement methodologies.
  • Supervisory or managerial experience.
  • Experience with AI and its opportunities for optimizing internal processes.
  • Experience with IT business improvement projects.
  • Familiarity with utility operations.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of service provider concepts.
  • Understanding of SAP, SAP/BW.

The pay range for this position is$106,600.00-$253,200.00, and this position is eligible for annual goals based incentive bonuses.
