IT QA Analyst

Purpose
This position is responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of IT systems and operations while supporting the planning and execution of technology projects across the Information Technology department. The IT QA Analyst I plays a dual role: maintaining rigorous quality standards across IT processes and deliverables, while assisting in the coordination of projects from initiation through closeout.

Focus & Scope
Essential duties and responsibilities, i.e. those which are basic, necessary, and an integral part of the job, are indicated below:
  1. Develops, documents, and executes test plans, test cases, and QA procedures for IT systems, applications, and infrastructure changes, including functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT) across enterprise platforms.
  2. Identifies, logs, tracks, and verifies resolution of defects using issue tracking tools such as Jira, ServiceNow, or Azure DevOps; maintains QA documentation including test results, defect reports, and process checklists.
  3. Reviews and validates system configurations, change requests, and deployments against defined standards and requirements; partners with vendors and internal teams to ensure deliverables meet technical and business requirements.
  4. Creates and maintains documentation of key functionality and routine user requests and issues; ensures Level 1 support training during system implementations and serves as Level 2 support for user requests in partnership with enterprise delivery and data teams.
  5. Supports continuous improvement efforts by identifying recurring issues and recommending process enhancements.
  6. Assists in the planning, scheduling, and tracking of IT projects and initiatives; maintains project documentation including project charters, status reports, action logs, and meeting notes.
  7. Coordinates tasks and timelines across internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders; schedules and facilitates project meetings and captures and distributes action items and decisions.
  8. Monitors project milestones and flags risks or delays to the project manager or IT leadership.
  9. Supports change management activities including communication drafts, training coordination, and user readiness assessments.
  10. Assists with budget tracking, purchase order coordination, and vendor communication as needed.

Role Qualifications & Requirements

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of training, education, and experience.
  • ISTQB Foundation certification or equivalent QA credential preferred.
  • CAPM or PMI-PBA certification, or active pursuit thereof, preferred.

Experience and Industry Expertise:
  • Minimum 2-4 years of experience in a QA, QC, or IT operations role.
  • Experience with project coordination or support in a technology environment required.
  • Experience with enterprise platforms such as ERP, HRIS, or construction management systems preferred.
  • Experience in a construction, engineering, or industrial industry environment is a plus.

Specific Job Requirements:
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug, alcohol, and background investigation.
  • Familiarity with software testing methodologies, both manual and automated.
  • Proficiency with project and issue tracking tools such as Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Project, or similar.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to translate technical findings into clear, actionable language for varied audiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Ability to preserve confidential and proprietary information and avoid conflicts of interest.
  • Exposure to Agile, Scrum, or hybrid project management methodologies.
  • Familiarity with ITIL or IT service management frameworks.

Equipment Used, Physical Demands, and Work Environment

Equipment Used:
  • General office equipment, telephone, automobile, personal protective equipment (i.e. safety glasses, hearing protection) when visiting plants.
Physical Demands & Work Environment: The physical demands and work environment characteristics are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.   • Physical: Sitting for long periods of time working on the computer or attending meetings. Job site visits require walking on uneven ground, steep slopes, and exposure to extreme temperature and/or humidity. Some lifting of materials and equipment up to 50 lbs.
  • Work Environment: Typical office environment with adequate temperatures and lighting, low levels of noise. Demands of meeting tight deadlines. Exposed to the conditions of job sites which can include loud noise, dust, fumes, and extreme weather conditions prevalent at the time. May work various hours, including early mornings, dusk or evenings.

BASE SALARY RANGE:
$90,000.00 - $126,000.00
The range displayed reflects the range the company reasonable expects to pay for the position. The actual base salary is subject to variation due to the role, level, geographic location, relevant education, training, or experience, among other factors.
