$59,800 annually. Do you have experience that could be an assurance and lift for young people facing houselessness to help them with the skills and resources to lead healthy, independent lives? New Avenues for Youth seeks a compassionate and resilient Mental Health Counselor to join our Pathways team. As a Mental Health Counselor, you will help teens and young adults experiencing houselessness to navigate emotional, psychological, and behavioral challenges. You will provide a safe space where youth can learn new tools to help them make positive and sustainable change in their lives. Join New Avenues and... What You'll Do: Review mental health treatment referrals and act as a subject matter expert for New Avenues program staff during the referral process. * Master's degree in counseling, psychology, or social work required * 1-2 years of experience conducting mental health and behavioral assessments including DSM diagnosis required. * Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) certification through MHACBO required but may be obtained at hire. * Valid driver's license, access to an automobile, and active auto insurance is required. * Ability to maintain professional boundaries with youth, the community, and other staff members. * Strong oral and written communications skills. * Bilingual Spanish/English speaking is a plus.
