Introduction
MWRD's Internship Program offers paid internship positions. While the main focus is on wastewater management, there are opportunities to gain knowledge and practical experience in a wide range of functions in each department. Paid Interns Paid interns are limited to 119 working days per calendar year and receive $18.00 per hour. Required Documents:

Position Title: Community Initiatives Intern Department: Board of Commissioners Office Location: Main Office Building 100 East Erie Street Chicago, IL. 60611 Description: The Metropolitan Water Reclamation District is seeking an intern for the Board of Commissioners' Office. We are looking for a motivated, civicminded individual with a strong work ethic to support the Commissioner in managing office operations and legislative priorities. This position includes a blend of project coordination, public outreach and communications, marketing, social media support, and administrative responsibilities. As part of the internship, the intern will have the opportunity to lead a researchbased project. The Commissioner will partner with you to create, guide, and support this project, providing resources aligned with the mission and goals of both the MWRD and the office. Duties and Responsibilities
This internship offers handson experience in policy, government operations, and civic engagement-an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about public service. Minimum Qualifications and Requirements: * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Experience with social media platforms and graphic design tools such as Canva

Educational Requirements: Currently enrolled in a degree seeking program majoring in communications, environmental science, political science or related fields. | |
