Job Overview

Provide occupational health nursing care for ill/injured employees. Recommend placement of employees in jobs compatible with their health and safety. Assist Children's Health Corporation and its entities in regulatory agency compliance. Assist in enhancement and conservation of employee's health through nursing care.

Duties & Responsibilities

An employee in this position may be called upon to do any or all the following essential functions. These examples do not include all the functions which the employee may be expected to perform.

  1. Coordinate disability management for non-occupational and occupational illnesses/injuries to ensure health and safety of employees, maximize productivity and reduce costs.

  2. Maintain a confidential, complete, and accurate system of employee medical records to provide information for job placements, medical surveillance, health maintenance and workers' compensation claims.

  3. Promote wellness among employees through educating, counseling, and providing resource information.

  4. Provides nursing care, using established protocols/pharmaceutical standing orders to place and maintain employees in a safe and healthy work environment.

SCOPE & LEVEL

Guidelines: Developmental, standard, or intermediate level. Guidelines are generally numerous, well established, and directly applicable to the work assignment. Work assignment and desired results are explained by general oral or written instructions.

Complexity: Falls between the entry and full performance/senior level. Duties assigned are generally repetitive and restricted in scope but may be of substantial intricacy. Employee primarily applies standardized practices.

Decision Making: Decisions or recommendations on non-standardized situations are limited to relating organizational policies to specific cases. Brings non routine issues to supervisor. Problems that are not covered by guidelines or that are without precedent are taken up with the supervisor.

Communications: Contacts with team members, clients or the public where explanatory or interpretive information is exchanged, gathered, or presented and some degree of discretion and judgment are required within the parameters of the job function.

Supervision Received: Under normal supervision, within a standardized work situation, the employee performs duties common to the line of work without close supervision or detailed instruction. Work product is subject to continual review.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Experience: One year nursing experience.

Equivalency: None

Licensure(s): Registered Nurse (RN) license; BLS/CPR from the American Heart Association with at least 6 months left before expiration is required upon hire.

Salary Information
Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.

Hourly Range: $36.52 to $54.78

Status: Full-time, benefit eligible

Shift: Four 10-hour shifts (6:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m.), with three days at AMC and one day per week at the North Campus. The designated day off is still to be determined.
