Electrical Design Engineer

We're looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to support the design and development of electrical systems for Sentry products. This is a great opportunity for an early-career engineer to grow hands-on design skills while working closely with manufacturing, service, and experienced engineers.
What You'll Do
- Analyze new and existing products for design feasibility, reliability, and manufacturability
- Create and refine electrical system designs and drawings using SolidWorks Electrical
- Prepare drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), IOM manuals, and technical documentation
- Apply applicable electrical codes and standards (NEMA, ATEX, ANSI, API, CSA, CE, CRN, as required)
- Support testing and debugging of products in the shop
- Manage multiple projects while meeting schedules and design requirements
- Collaborate with manufacturing and other departments to resolve issues and implement Engineering Changes
- Take ownership of assigned work while learning Sentry's products and processes
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- Some exposure to electrical design in an industrial environment preferred
- Experience or coursework involving:
- Wiring techniques and electrical schematics
- Analog and digital circuit design
- Electrical codes (NEC, UL 508A, CE)
- Basic PLC (ladder logic) or microprocessor programming
- Ability to read and interpret EWDs, P&IDs, and technical drawings
- Proficiency with SolidWorks Electrical, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office
- Strong communication, organization, and technical writing skills
- Team-oriented mindset with a strong ownership mentality
