Security Guard

A government contract requires that this position be restricted to U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents. You must provide documentation that you are a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident to qualify.

The Security Guard will provide security at assigned facility. Duties include patrolling and observing the activities of persons in and the facility and property. Security Guards serve as a general security presence and visible deterrent to crime and client rule infractions; detect suspicious activities and watch for criminal acts or client rule infractions at or near assigned post, which may be a threat to the property, client or employees at the site. The Security Guard will report all incidents, accidents or medical emergencies. Respond to emergencies, such as medical, fire, bomb threats and to alarms.

Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Security Guard: $20.00 - $25.00

Pay commensurate with experience.

Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.

Security Guard Responsibilities Include:

  • Visually patrols buildings, building grounds, and parking lots to observe unusual behavior and to prevent vandalism.

  • Prevents unauthorized access to restricted areas.

  • Answers routine inquiries and directs visitors to appropriate areas.

  • Completes log entries.

  • Ensures that all visitors and staff have vacated building at closing and performs a security check of all building, gates, outlying areas.

  • Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Security Guard Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing in the English language for the purpose of public interaction and report writing.

  • Authorized to work in the United States.

  • Ability to perform essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Neat and professional appearance.

  • Friendly and professional demeanor.

  • Must possess current First Aid and CPR certification cards.

  • Ability to provide quality customer service.

  • Ability to handle typical and crisis situations efficiently and effectively at client site.

  • Must have a Valid Driver License.

  • Ability to meet and deal tactfully with government personnel, facility employees, and the general public.

  • Ability to understand, interpret, explain, and apply rules, regulations, directives, and procedures.

  • Possess poise, self-confidence, and an ability to make sound decisions and react quickly under stressful conditions.

  • Ability to prepare clear and concise reports.

  • Ability to learn and adapt to changing situations.

  • Ability to accept and respond to instructions and direction.

  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
