IES Commercial, Inc. - DBA IES Electrical, seeking IT Desktop Support II Technician, in San Antonio, TX. Job Summary
- Provide Tier 2 desktop and endpoint support for laptops, desktops, and peripheral devices
- Diagnose, research, and resolve complex hardware, software, and operating system issues
- Support and maintain Windows 10/11 endpoints managed through Atera
- Create, modify, and maintain user accounts in Active Directory and Entra ID in accordance with approved access control policies
- Support Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint
- Provide clear technical instructions when rendering user support
- Order, provision, activate, and maintain wireless devices, including cell phones and mobile hotspots
- Coordinate ordering of new computers, monitors, and related IT equipment in accordance with procurement standards
- Maintain accurate inventory of all IT assets, including computers, mobile devices, and peripherals
- Track asset lifecycle status, assignments, warranties, replacements, and decommissioning
- Support endpoint security requirements, including device compliance, encryption, and update enforcement
- Assist with hardware upgrades, refresh cycles, and system conversions
- Support and troubleshoot printers, scanners, mobile devices, and other end-user peripherals
- Adheres to company policies & procedures for IT practices, company information
- Support ongoing IT initiatives such as operating system upgrades, application rollouts, and security updates
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Freshworks Service Desk ticketing system in accordance with IT policies and procedures
- Participate in required IT and security training and knowledge-sharing activities
- Adhere to IES IT standards, security policies, and confidentiality requirements, including protection of PII
- Perform additional duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.
Qualifications
- Associates Degree in Computer Science or related field; or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 3 years recent desktop or endpoint support experience.
- Experience supporting Windows 10/11 endpoints and Microsoft 365 services.
- Working knowledge of endpoint monitoring and management tools (Atera preferred).
- Experience with hardware and software troubleshooting, upgrades, and conversions.
- Familiarity with remote support tools and service desk platforms.
- Strong written/verbal communication skills and organizational/time-management skills.
- Ability to interact effectively in supporting users via phone and internet-based tools and maintaining confidentiality of company and employee information.
- English & Spanish fluency (spoken/written) a plus.
- Successfully pass pre-employment (post-offer) background check, drug test, and MVR check.
