Machine Operator

Whippany Actuation Systems has an exciting opportunity for an experienced machinist looking for an opportunity to grow their skills. As a Machine Operator you will perform a variety of manual machining operations to support our Machine Shop, which will provide you with the opportunity to excel as well as expand your knowledge and skills in various areas of machining. You would be working the day shift, Monday - Friday, 6am - 2:30pm, with overtime available.

In this role, you will typically:



  • Cut and maintain bar stock;
  • Deburr gears and other machined parts;
  • Perform various manual machining operations such as lapping, honing, drilling, and tapping



We require:



  • 5 years' experience operating machinery in a production environment
  • An ability to read and interpret blue prints;
  • Ability to deburr, cut bar stock, and polish;
  • Knowledge of GD&T;
  • Authorization to work in the U.S.



Eligibility Requirements:

This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. Whippany Actuation Systems will require proof of status before employment.

We would really like to see:



  • Vocational training or certification
  • Ability to read blueprints and use conventional bench measuring equipment
  • Ability to read, understand and follow all manufacturing procedures
  • Knowledge of grinding practices and finish requirements
  • Ability to work under minimum supervision
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Within commuting distance of Whippany or willing to relocate self as relocation assistance is not available



Physical Requirements



  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to transport items to other work centers throughout the facility
  • Includes exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable
  • Requires wearing common protective or safety equipment
  • Requires working indoors in environmentally controlled conditions
  • Requires ability to stand for long periods of time



Benefits and Compensation

The pay rate for this position at commencement of employment is $31.88 per hour. If hired, employee will be an "at-will position."
