Master Maintenance Technician

General Purpose:
Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment within the facility. Perform required performance maintenance (PM's) as scheduled.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
* Install, program, maintain, document, and troubleshoot programmable logic controls (PLC) and components
* Plan and coordinate installation of electronic controls
* Assist in training other maintenance staff as needed
* Report daily to maintenance manager on the status of projects and repairs
* Assist in regulatory tests of plant instrumentation and document results as required
* Understand and monitor plant systems: HVAC, Compressed Air, electrical, glycol chillers, etc.
* Provide capability in PM related activities
* Document all work performed
* Assist as needed on all types of maintenance calls throughout the plant
* Maintain work areas in a neat and orderly fashion
* Maintain safe working conditions for employees and compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding health and safety issues
* Follow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements

Part of a monthly on call rotation

Minimum Requirements:
Education and Experience
* High school diploma, GED, or specialized trade school preferred
* 3 years of maintenance experience, including experience with electronic controls and PLC units
* 1 year of specialized training in PLC's or equivalent preferred
* Certification and/or License - Forklift certification preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
* Able to perform all required preventative, productive, predictive, and scheduled maintenance procedures
* Able to use shop mathematics with the use of complicated drawings, specifications, charts, tables, and various types of adjustable measuring instruments
* Strong understanding of controls used in the plant and how they affect production
* Knowledge of machine shop equipment
* Able to troubleshoot problems
* Able to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing
* Able to follow directions and meet deadlines
* Able to perform task and duties without constant supervision
* Able to lead and instruct others on the proper and safe procedures
* Must be able to read, write and speak English

Compensation Details:
The starting rate is $30.00, but increases over time.
