Job Description




As a Security Officer - Armed Route Driver in Marion, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will conduct routine patrols and remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, while providing clear communication and customer service to staff and visitors. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and contractors by carrying out armed post orders, security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government corrections location.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, housing areas, grounds, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or contraband movement; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
  • Monitor access control points, verify identification and authorization, and direct individuals according to facility protocols while maintaining professional communication and escalation procedures.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating with facility personnel and/or public responders as directed by post orders.
  • Complete required reports and logs, document unusual activity, and communicate status updates to site leadership using approved security-related reporting systems.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • An armed guard card/license is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
