Job Description




As a Security Professional - Unarmed - Full Time in Chicago, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a renowned education and arts location, you will monitor and patrol galleries, public spaces, and back-of-house areas, staying visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will conduct routine rounds, assist staff and visitors with directions and questions, and communicate clearly when you observe concerns. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and/or contractors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols of galleries, classrooms, offices, public spaces, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor access points and interior spaces, help to maintain orderly entry and exit, and assist with visitor direction, queue management, and general information as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disturbances, medical calls, and/or alarms, and communicate updates to site leadership and emergency services as directed.
  • Document daily activity, patrol observations, and incident details in required reports, and report maintenance concerns such as lighting issues, unsecured doors, and/or hazards to the appropriate contacts.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Client requires proof of high school diploma or GED.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
