Job Description




As a Security Officer - Industrial Foot Rounds in Washington, DC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Cultural Institutions, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a renowned cultural institution, you will monitor and patrol galleries and public spaces, conduct routine rounds, and remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will greet visitors and staff, communicate clearly, document observations, and respond to concerns with professionalism. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities appropriate to a cultural institution location.
  • Respond to incidents, visitor concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation and timely notification of site leadership and/or emergency services as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols of galleries, exhibits, public areas, offices, loading areas, and perimeter spaces to help to deter prohibited activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor access points and restricted areas, verify credentials when required, and direct guests to appropriate entrances, ticketing, and exhibit areas while maintaining a professional presence.
  • Complete accurate reports, patrol logs, and incident documentation; communicate observations and/or hazards to site management and Allied Universal leadership for follow-up.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
