Department of Veterinary Medicine & Surgery Job Description
The College of Veterinary Medicine at MU is on a mission to educate and train outstanding clinicians and scientists, generate new knowledge, engage stakeholders, and foster economic growth, all of which promote and protect the health and welfare of animals and people. Simply put, our mission is to Teach, Heal, Discover, and Serve. Veterinarians throughout the Midwest refer animal clients to the Veterinary Health Center for specialized diagnoses and treatment. With sophisticated therapeutic equipment that includes an underwater treadmill, advanced imaging techniques, and groundbreaking equine lameness diagnostic equipment, we are a center for animal healthcare. The Animal Care Workers of the Equine Hospital provide critical support service and care of the Veterinary Health Centers patients. Animal Care Workers ensure the health and safety of our patients by providing basic husbandry functions throughout the hospital. Primary responsibilities for this position may include:
Shift
This is a part-time position. Position hours are Saturday and Sunday, 7a to 4p on alternating weekends (position only works two weekends per month). Additionally, part-time staff provide coverage on University Holidays, which may occur during the week. Applicants must be willing to work some university holidays. Minimum Qualifications
Anticipated Hiring Range
Salary Range: $16.00 per hour Benefit Eligibility
This position is not eligible for University benefits. Individuals in non benefit eligible positions may choose to participate in the Tax Deferred Annuity Plan (403b).
