Pay Rate $40-$42 per hour
Minimum Experience/Education

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in email marketing, audience engagement or digital content management.

Departmental Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education:

  • Experience working with an enterprise CMS (WordPress preferred) and email marketing platforms (Salesforce Marketing Cloud or similar).
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex digital marketing projects across multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience in graphic design platforms through Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Proficiency in analytics tools and a data-driven mindset.
  • Familiarity with email preference centers and subscription management.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and project management skills.
  • Experience working in higher education or other mission-driven environments is preferred.
  • Familiarity with web accessibility standards (WCAG).

Duties and Responsibilities
The Digital Engagement Specialist provides critical operational support for the University's digital communication channels. This role focuses on the daily execution of email marketing campaigns and provides functional assistance for the ongoing website redesign initiative. This position supports the Digital Engagement unit in maintaining a consistent online presence and ensuring seamless communication with constituents.

Assists the Digital Engagement unit in maintaining a consistent online presence by building email content, managing shared calendars, and performing hands-on web content updates. Working across multiple platforms, helps ensure that digital touchpoints are accessible, brand-compliant, and aligned with stakeholder goals.



  • Support the creation of targeted email campaigns and newsletters, such as Niner Nation News, using Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
  • Provide operational support for email sends across University Communications, University Advancement, and other campus stakeholders.
  • Help maintain a centralized email calendar to prevent audience oversaturation and ensure strategic timing.
  • Support the University's website redesign initiative by assisting academic and administrative units with phased content migration and transitions.
  • Provide hands-on content entry and functional support within WordPress and legacy Drupal environments.
  • Foster productive relationships with colleagues to ensure consistent implementation of digital governance policies.
  • Other duties as assigned related to web content assistance throughout the University Communications department
