Role Snapshot
Our Manager of Provider Outreach and Education (POE) oversees a team dedicated to delivering targeted, data-driven educational initiatives to Medicare providers. They aim to reduce confusion, inquiries, errors, and improper payments by ensuring educational efforts align with CMS and contractual requirements. This POE Manager collaborates with internal teams to prioritize and measure the effectiveness of outreach, preventing provider issues and enhancing system stability before they affect customer service or payment accuracy.

Salary Range
95,000 ~ $110,000
The base pay offered for this position may vary within the posted range based on your job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

We are open to remote work in the following approved states:

** Employees living within 45 miles of WPS Headquarters (1717 W. Broadway in Madison, WI) will be expected to be able to work Hybrid 2 days a week on a regular basis.

  • Can promote a culture of data-driven decision-making, feedback, and continuous learning.


Minimum Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in Health Administration, Business Administration or other related field, or equivalent post high school education and/or work-related experience.
  • 7 or more years of experience developing and delivering education, training, outreach in a healthcare setting.
  • 3 or more years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of Medicare guidelines (Part A, Part B).
  • Experience working with or interpreting improper payment data (e.g., CERT findings, error categories, dollar impact) to inform education or outreach priorities.
  • Expertise in designing or leading targeted education efforts based on performance data, risk indicators, or provider behavior, rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.
  • Strong experience in leading teams through process changes, with the ability to introduce new approaches while maintaining staff engagement and operational stability this includes:

    • Proficiency with dashboards, reporting tools, or data visualization (e.g., Excel, Power BI, or similar tools) to communicate trends and results to leadership or stakeholders.
    • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with customer service, policy, operations, IT, or analytics teams to align education strategies with broader organizational goals.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly and effectively to diverse audiences.




Preferred Qualifications



  • 5 or more years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Certified Evaluation and Management Coder (CEMC) or Certified Professional Coder (CPC).
  • MAC contractor experience with FISS, MCS and MAS systems.
