THE ROLE:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced SerDes Validation Engineer to join our team. The candidate will play a critical role in validating high-speed SerDes interfaces across various products, including CPUs, GPUs, network cards, and AI accelerators. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of PCIe and 800G Ethernet, along with experience in validation test planning, production test support, and firmware development.

THE PERSON:

The successful candidate demonstrates strong analytical judgment, disciplined execution, and a high level of professionalism when navigating complex technical environments. They communicate clearly and effectively with crossfunctional teams, consistently ensuring alignment and accuracy across validation, firmware, design, and production groups. These individual exercises sound decisionmaking under ambiguity, maintains meticulous attention to detail, and approaches challenges with a structured, solutionoriented mindset. They exhibit reliability, collaborative integrity, and a commitment to continuous improvement in both process and technical capability.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Validation Test Planning:

  • Develop comprehensive validation strategies and test plans for SerDes interfaces on PCIe and 800G Ethernet.
  • Define validation goals, objectives, and metrics to ensure product performance and reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and validate test methodologies.

2. Production Test Support:

  • Provide support for production testing of SerDes interfaces to ensure functionality and performance meet design specifications.
  • Develop and optimize test vectors for production testing to enhance test coverage and efficiency.
  • Work with manufacturing and operations teams to resolve any validation-related issues during the production process.
  • Analyze test data to identify trends and issues, providing actionable insights to improve production test processes.

3. Firmware Development:

  • Collaborate with hardware and software teams to develop and optimize firmware that supports SerDes validation activities.
  • Assist in debugging and troubleshooting firmware-related issues affecting interface performance.
  • Develop scripts and automation tools to improve and streamline firmware validation processes.

4. Technical Documentation:

  • Create detailed technical documentation, including test plans, test cases, and validation reports.
  • Ensure documentation is accurate, comprehensive, and easily accessible to stakeholders.

5. Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for enhancement in validation processes and methodologies.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technological advancements related to high-speed communication interfaces.


PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience in the semiconductor industry or with high-performance computing hardware.
  • Familiarity with AI accelerators and network card technologies.
  • Knowledge of signal integrity and electromagnetic compatibility testing.
  • Proven experience in SerDes validation with a focus on PCIe and Ethernet technologies.
  • Strong understanding of high-speed interface standards such as PCIe and 800G Ethernet.
  • Experience with test equipment and tools used in SerDes validation (e.g., oscilloscopes, BERTs, protocol analyzers).
  • Proficiency in Python for scripting and automation purposes.
  • Experience in firmware development and debugging.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
