Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a dynamic Lead Solution Architect (LSA) and Technology Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join the Defense Enterprise Health Solutions (DEHS) Technology and Solutions team. This position will be a hybrid role out of our Windsor Mill, MD office.

The LSA Technology SME will play a critical role in driving customer opportunities and engagements, from pre-sales pursuit through delivery, by leveraging Peraton's innovative technology and capabilities. Key for the role will be to be drive innovative solutions for customers key technical areas such as AI, application modernization, cloud transformation, microservices, DevSecOps, intelligent automation, Enterprise IT and Zero Trust.

Responbilities:

    Shape and guide customer growth by articulating Peraton's solutions and value propositions within the DEHS portfolio, including AI, Digital Transformation, Enterprise IT, and Cyber - while serving as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on current ("as-is") and future ("to-be") technical strategies.
  • Build and manage relationships across the customer base, effectively driving innovation and communication of our Peraton capabilities to the agency executive.
  • Define target-state architectures aligned with DEHS enterprise architecture (EA) demonstrated knowledge and experience in developing target-state architectures in areas such as: AI agentic solutions, AI-driven code development, application modernization, AI-powered cloud transformation, microservices, Agile DevSecOps, AI-enabled cloud operations, Cloud FinOps, containers/Kubernetes, intelligent automation (e.g., AIOps, RPA), cloud services, ICAM/Zero Trust, cloud services (e.g. AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, etc..) and XaaS.
  • Lead end-to-end solution architecture for DEHS transformation initiatives, including legacy system modernization, cloud-native platforms, microservices-based architectures, and AI-enabled automation.
  • Responsible for leading the Solution Team using the Solution Development Methodology; directing all engineering efforts to develop solution artifacts; and articulating strengths and discriminators consistent with the win strategy and responsive to evaluation criteria.
  • Translate DEHS mission needs into scalable, compliant technical solutions, and faciliate customer and internal technical briefings, strategic meetings, workshops, and architecture/design reviews.
  • Support the development of transformation roadmaps by analyzing customers' current-state challenges and future-state initiatives, leveraging their goals, initiatives, KPIs, and architecture standards to ensure alignment with the opportunity and the agency's overall strategy.
  • Collaborate with engineering, security, data, and operations teams to address technical risks, performance, and scalability challenges, ensuring high-quality implementations.
  • Mentor solution architects and senior technical staff across DEHS portfolios, fostering technical excellence and innovation. Advises clients on approaches to identifying and managing risks, assumptions, and benefits realization at the departmental level.
  • Organizes and executes knowledge capture sessions to build and enhance consultant collateral and institutional expertise.


Qualifications

What you'll need:

  • Education: 16 years with BS/BA; 14 years with MS/MA degree
  • 14 years of experience in Applications, Cloud, AI and data science, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
  • Experience in solutioning and implementing Application Modernization, Cloud Transformation, AI & data solutions and Enterprise IT solutions within cloud and hybrid environments
  • Strong understanding of system integration and policy challenges across government agencies
  • Clearance: US Citizenship required with the ability to obtain a Public Trust

Target Salary Range

$190,000 - $304,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
