Role Description * Executes hardware preparation, staging, installation, and system startups/shutdowns-including racks, drives, and switches-by following detailed instructions, checklists, protocols, and documented procedures. * Conducts postinstallation quality checks to ensure proper grounding, labeling, cabling, and staging in alignment with safety requirements, deployment standards, and Network Design Task (NDT) specifications. * Performs diagnostics and troubleshooting using established processes, identifies root causes efficiently, and replaces defective components as needed. * Decommissions and refreshes hardware for routine updates or modifications (e.g., memory upgrades, OS rebuilds) with minimal supervision and in accordance with standard operating procedures. * Adheres to communication and escalation guidelines, providing timely updates to Datacenter Technician Leads when incidents or issues occur. * Required Qualifications: * High school diploma, GED, or equivalent * Foundational knowledge of computer hardware, servers, and related components * 1+ year of experience supporting IT equipment or similar technology * Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Excel, Word) * Ability to work nonstandard hours, including weekends and holidays * Previous datacenter experience preferred but not required Skills * Data center operations * Rack and stack * Troubleshooting * Deployment * Customer service Top Skills * Data center * Rack and stack * Troubleshooting Additional Qualifications * Strong team collaboration * Positive, proactive attitude * Willingness to exceed expectations Experience Level * Intermediate Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Des Moines, IA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
