DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will engage in hands-on training assignments to gain insight into the various operations of the Pennsylvania Insurance Department, with a particular emphasis on the consumer protection aspects of Market Actions. You will develop a comprehensive understanding of market conduct examinations and oversight reviews, ensuring that insurance producers and companies adhere to both federal and state laws and regulations. Your involvement will include participating in the market conduct examination process, which entails preparing for interviews with insurance company representatives, reviewing their files and electronic records for compliance, and documenting any potential violations. Additionally, you will attend meetings with insurance companies and vendors, and you may be assigned other duties and special projects as needed. Interested in learning more? - Parking provided
- Internship, starts in May 2026 and ends in August 2026, prior to the start of the school year. Potential for part-time or full-time, 25 to 37.5 hours per week.
- Work schedule will be flexible within 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with schedule that aligns with the supervisor/work unit.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to one day per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. QUALIFICATIONS Internship Requirements:
- Must be currently enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate degree program.
- Spring of 2025 graduates may also be considered for this program.
- Good academic standing (2.0 GPA or higher).
Additional Requirements:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
