Job Description




As a Security Officer - Northside Medical Patrol in Pittsburgh, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. Join Allied Universal at a leading healthcare location as an unarmed patrol officer, monitoring and patrolling assigned areas to help maintain a secure environment. You will complete routine rounds, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, assist staff, patients, and visitors with clear communication, and support access control and screening as needed. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation and coordinating notifications to appropriate personnel.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout interior areas and exterior perimeter, observing for unusual activity, unsecured doors, hazards, and/or policy violations and reporting findings.
  • Control access at designated entrances and restricted areas by verifying identification, issuing temporary badges when directed, and/or directing visitors to the proper destinations.
  • Complete timely reports and logs of patrols, incidents, and service requests, and communicate relevant updates during shift turnovers and/or to site leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

  • This position is in a hospital environment where vaccines are present.
  • This position is in a hospital environment that includes a morgue.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Applicants must be able to restrain individuals in a hospital environment.
  • X-ray screening experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
