Spaulding Adaptive Sports Centers (SASC) provides children and adults of all levels of ability the opportunity to live active, healthy lives through participation in a variety of adaptive sports and recreational activities. Programs include seasonal land- and water-based offerings delivered in both individual and group settings. SASC operates across three regions-Cape Cod, Boston, and the North Shore-each overseen by a Regional Manager. Associates are hired into a specific region and report directly to the Regional Manager for that area. While regionally based, all programs are part of the larger SASC Network, and staff may collaborate across regions to support shared programming needs.
Adaptive Sports Associates provide direct services to individuals with physical and/or cognitive impairments, functional limitations, or disabilities resulting from injury, disease, or other causes. Associates facilitate adaptive sport and recreation programs, making equipment and instructional modifications to meet each participant's abilities, goals, and safety needs. In addition to program delivery, Associates may work with volunteers, contribute to program development, marketing, outreach, and community education initiatives.
A Lead Associate fulfills all responsibilities of an Adaptive Sports Associate while assuming additional leadership, mentorship, and operational responsibilities. The Lead Associate partners closely with the Regional Manager to support daily program operations, staff and program development, and ongoing quality improvement and safety initiatives. In this role, the Lead Associate serves as a mentor and role model for staff, students, and interns, and is expected to assist with recruitment, onboarding, training, supervision, and evaluation. Lead Associates bring advanced sport-specific expertise and experience, and play a key role in fostering a collaborative, high-quality, and participant-centered program in a safe environment.
