Job Summary:


The Software Quality Engineer (SQAE) will be responsible for a wide range of activities including participation in the design lifecycle of software, design reviews, test witnessing, software problem reporting and audits. The SQAE interacts and works with the software engineering team to ensure compliance to contractual requirements and standards. SQAE support compliance to AS9100, CMMI ML 3, DO-178 and DO-254 (firmware).



Job Responsibilities:



  • Participate in software design process making recommendations for product changes and improvements.
  • Generate program specific Software QA plans, checklists, and reports.
  • Support the development and improvement of software quality processes in support of AS9100, CMMI, DO-178, and DO-254.
  • Review program specific software related documents such as Software Development Plan, Software Requirements Specifications, Software Design Documents, test plans and procedures.
  • Validate functional requirements in peer reviews of software code.
  • Participate in software code peer reviews.
  • Witness software testing. Write Software QA test reports related to qualification testing.
  • Participate in SW change control board, including verification and closure of software PR.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance to program requirements, identify potential areas of improvement, and mitigate risks.
  • Participate in Functional Configuration Audit (FCA), Stages of Involvement (SOI) and compliance audits for AS9100, CMMI, DO-178, and DO-254.
  • Manage build and baseline release of software.
  • Present on topics related to Software Quality Assurance at customer related meetings.
  • Collect, manage and update SQA metrics.


Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's Degree in CS, CIS, MIS, Mathematics, or Engineering.
  • 7+ years of Software Quality Assurance or related experiences.
  • Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tool, and processes.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong analytical ability.
  • Ability to utilize multiple word-processing and database applications including MS Office applications.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and work on multiple projects simultaneously.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience working with the following compliance requirements:
  • CMMI - Maturity Level 3
  • AS9100 - Quality Management System
  • AS9115 - Quality Management Systems - Deliverable Software
  • DO-178 - Software Consideration for Airborne Systems
  • DO-254 - Hardware Consideration for Airborne (firmware)
  • Experience with Atlassian Jira, BitBucket, Confluence
  • Familiar with Unix or Linux based system is a plus
  • Understanding of coding languages
  • Experience certifying systems to DO-178/254 is a plus
  • Experience working with system safety requirements is a plus

Pay Grade Range
Fulltime Equivalent Job Grade Salary Range for this position
$87,100.00 - $182,900.00 annual salary for in-office or hybrid employees in FL, GA, IN, AZ, AL, MD or TX, and all remote employees
$97,600.00 - $204,800.00 annual salary for in-office or hybrid employees in VA, CA, NH or MA
$102,800.00 - $215,800.00 annual salary for in-office or hybrid employees in NJ
