Job Description




As a Security Officer - Front Entry Screener in Boston, MA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. You will check credentials, follow site procedures, monitor activity, and report concerns to help reduce security-related incidents. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service at a government location by carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities as directed.
  • Screen visitors, employees, and deliveries at points of entry using walk-through metal detectors, hand wands, and/or X-ray equipment as applicable, and verify identification and authorization for entry.
  • Control access by issuing visitor credentials, maintaining sign-in and sign-out logs, directing visitors to appropriate destinations, and managing lobby and screening queue flow.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and promptly notify site leadership and/or emergency services when needed.
  • Complete required reports and logs related to screening activity, prohibited items, and incidents, and communicate observations to Allied Universal management and site personnel.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
