Inspection Services is a unit of Product Quality within the Quality, Performance & Improvement Department of NNL. Inspection Services is a cross-site unit that performs various types of quality assurance inspections and mechanical tool calibrations in support of the NNL technical community. An Inspector General in the Inspection Services unit can expect to have a wide range of unique responsibilities that include, but are not limited to: Coordinate and execute work in an industrial environment which may include the performance of measurements, documentation of results, and overview of production activities after receiving appropriate training and mentorship. Inspect and record the adequacy of complex components (very close tolerances, of various components and test assemblies, etc.) using precision measurement devices and nondestructive testing techniques. Support and identify discrepancies in such activities as lifting/handling, welding, receipt inspection, source inspection, component fabrication, and other related tasks through surveillance, inspection testing, and records. Utilize automatic computerized data processing equipment to perform tasks and record results. Maintain mandatory personnel qualifications by performing related duties as necessary. Pay Range $39.01 hourly Jobs categorized as subject to a collective bargaining agreement will adhere to the pay rates, wage increases, progression schedules, and other parameters identified and negotiated in said agreements.
