Director - Global Communications and Marketing

Job Description:

Bristow Group seeks a Director of Global Communications & Marketing to lead the communications and marketing functions. This important role leads a team of professionals and agency partners to develop and implement a robust, coordinated, enterprise-wide communications strategy that aligns global communications around a single narrative to position the Company for long-term success. By working with the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) to understand the Company strategy, the leader is responsible for developing 360o communication and marketing plans to help achieve Company internal and external objectives.

This roll up your sleeves leader is expected to be deeply knowledgeable in all aspects of corporate communications, with the ability to connect with employees across the organization at all levels, remain calm under pressure, be adaptable to change, and have a passion for creativity. The Director will also be responsible for continual development of a high-performing team.

Below is a summary of various aspects and expectations of the role:

  • Lead and develop a highly skilled team

  • Provide strategic communications counsel to the Company's Executive Leadership Team

  • Develop strategic plans that protect and strengthen the Bristow brand globally

  • Work across the organization to understand issues and mitigate risks - internally and externally

  • Work with commercial teams to understand customer needs and develop marketing materials that highlight the Company's strength and solutions relevant to solving customer problems

  • Work as part of a team to help manage communications around employee relations to help inform various employee groups including multiple organized groups of employees (unions) globally

  • Work with local teams around the globe to ensure messages are relevant and/or tailored for local use while also aligned with the global corporate narrative internally and externally

  • Liaise with the CFO and others in the Finance and Investor Relations functions to ensure message alignment across audiences

  • Oversee Company's social media presence (LinkedIn, Facebook, X, Instagram)

  • Prepare speeches, talking points, key messages, etc. for various uses, including preparing executives for various internal and external engagements

  • Set performance targets and KPI's for all communications processes and personnel

  • Monitor media and social media to understand industry issues and position the company as the global leader and executives as thought leaders in the industry

  • Oversee and manage various creative projects including corporate videos, marketing materials, etc.

  • Oversee and manage all internal communications including the Company intranet Portal, town halls, internal podcast, etc.

  • Draft, edit, coordinate Company and partner news releases following the established processes

  • Lead the Company's Crisis Communications team during incidents and events

Key Relationships

Reports To:Senior Vice President, Chief Administrative Officer

Team size:2 managers, 1 specialist (plus agency partners in various locations)

Other Key Relationships:Chief Executive Officer, Chief Financial Officer and Investor Relations

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, or related field

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in global communications and/or public relations

  • Five years of experience leading a team

  • Experience in the energy or aviation industry, direct or ancillary experience preferred

  • Experience leading communications in a highly regulated industry

  • Extensive experience in internal and external communications

  • Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite

  • Detail oriented with strong verbal, written and presentation skills at all levels
