We are looking for a Wafer Fab Equipment Engineer.



Responsibilities

The Equipment Engineer is responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of wafer fab and support equipment of a small MEMS production facility. The equipment includes Reactive Ion Etcher, wet etch baths, wafer track, contact aligners, thermal oxidation furnace, LPCVD furnace, E-beam evaporators, Sputtering tools, wafer metrology tools.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    Maintain, troubleshoot and repair wafer fab equipment as needed. Coordinate troubleshooting and repairs with field service, or tech service from the equipment OEM or 3rd party support.
  1. Oversee the design and implementation of new equipment projects, with an emphasis on layout and installation of electrical, gases, exhaust, vacuum pumps, etc. Coordinate installation with rigging company and OEM as needed.
  2. Assist management and EH&S with regulatory data and reports as needed for wastewater district, Air Pollution Control District, Fire Dept, Environmental Health Dept, etc.
  3. Work with wafer fab technicians to understand equipment problems and train them to handle minor equipment issues like dropped wafers in the RIE
  4. Coordinate the collection and disposal of hazardous waste
  5. Support both R&D and Production Manufacturing within Class 100 and 10K Cleanroom environments
  6. Provide support, direction and tracking of preventative maintenance programs for wafer fab equipment and facilities in support of semiconductor manufacturing
  7. Other duties as assigned

PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Able to lift up to 30 lbs
  2. Working for long periods in a cleanroom wearing a cleanroom gown including gloves, face mask, and safety glasses


Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  1. Hands-on familiarity with and understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes, process tools, equipment and operations.
  2. Ability to troubleshoot, perform preventative maintenance, and do minor repairs to dry etching tools, mask aligners, wafer tracks, wet benches, furnaces, pick and place machines, sputtering tools, and evaporation tools
  3. Hands-on experience installing, maintaining, troubleshooting vacuum equipment including oil sealed, dry and cryo vacuum pump as well as using He leak detector.
  4. Familiarity and understanding of wafer fab process gases and gas cylinder changes for both inert and toxic gases.
  5. Ability to work with process engineers and management to determine required equipment and facilities process control to mitigate process excursions
  6. Prefer working knowledge of DI/RO water systems, compressed dry air systems, process chilled water, LN2, GN2 to support Class 100 and 10K Cleanroom environments
  7. Experience working with electrical schematics and process equipment manuals
  8. Experience with layout/drawing programs like AutoCad or SolidWorks preferred
  9. Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
  10. Able to organize and prioritize assignments
  11. Strong oral and written communication abilities

EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  1. BS Degree in Engineering or related field, and five (5) years wafer fab equipment maintenance experience, Or
  2. AS Degree and Ten (10) years of experience in wafer fab equipment maintenance.

At Bruker, base salary is part of our total compensation. The estimated base salary range for this full-time position is between $78,750 and $140,000. You will have the ability progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base salary for the role will depend on a several job-related factors, including, but not limited to education, training, experience, the geographic location of the successful candidate, skills, competencies, job-related knowledge and travel requirements for this position. Full-time employees may also be eligible for a performance-related incentive in addition to a full range of benefits including 401(k) with company match, an employee stock purchase plan, medical and dental plans, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability insurance, employee assistance program and paid time off including vacation, sick time and holidays, and more.
