Department Summary:
Boston Children's Division of Outpatient Cardiology is one of the world's oldest, largest, and most experienced pediatric programs.
Our clinic provides comprehensive evaluation and coordinated care for infants, children, and adults with various heart and heart-related illnesses, diseases, and conditions. We care for patients who have congenital heart disease and the congenital heart defects (CHDs) that it causes, conditions such as septal defects and tetralogy of Fallot. We also care for those who have acquired heart disease - conditions such as cardiomyopathy and hypertension.

Key responsibilities:
  • Assisting clinician during examinations (i.e. obtaining, measuring and recording routine information such as temperature and blood pressure, and performing other related duties according to specific needs of clinic).
  • Working with interdisciplinary team including other clinical assistants, physicians, advanced practice providers, social workers, child life specialist and administrative staff
  • Assisting clinicians during invasive and noninvasive procedures.
  • Transporting patients, supplies and equipment as needed.
  • Maintaining, cleaning and ordering department specific equipment.
  • Scheduling, receiving and/or registering patients, visitors and staff for appointments or procedures.
  • Collecting, verifying and recording required information according to established procedures and instructions.
  • Identifying and reporting unusual findings or changes in patient condition to Registered Nurse, advanced practice provider and or physician.
  • Obtaining records, files and/or results for appointments and entering related information on appropriate computer systems.
  • Answering, screening and routing telephone calls and performing general office support tasks.
Minimum qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience:
1 year direct patient care experience preferred, or nursing student with one completed clinical rotation.

Please note: During a public health emergency, individuals in this role may be expected to take on additional duties to respond to organizational needs.

The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.

Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
