Job Description:



This role manages the day-to-day operations of the general ledger group and the integrity of the balance sheet for all company codes. It manages the annual financial audit, drives innovation and efficiencies in achieving overall company and departmental goals and objectives. It is also responsible for supervision and development of professional staff.


Principal Responsibilities:

Manages the day-to-day activities of the general ledger group in a high-volume, deadline driven transactional environment. Drives efficiencies through innovation and continuous process improvements. Provides general accounting guidance and support to internal customers. 20%

Manages and approves account reconciliations performed by the general ledger team on Blackline Systems, an account reconciliation software. Ensures reconciliations are performed timely with high priority placed on identifying and resolving reconciling items. Facilitates quarterly balance sheet reviews with the four business groups. 20%

Manages the period-end close process for two instances of enterprise resource planning system, SAP, and collaborates with corporate and business unit management teams. Establish and enforce proper close procedures to ensure accurate reporting and compliance. 20%

Manages the interim and year-end external audit and timely fulfillment of all auditor requests. Works with business unit finance and staff unit teams to ensure responses meet the criteria of the auditors request. Maintains the audit sharepoint site. 20%

Conducts employee performance reviews, make hiring decisions, and develop professional staff through effective delegation and goal setting. Responsible for skills development, training and performance improvement actions for direct reports. 10%

Provide support to other groups within Corporate Finance as needed such as Financial Reporting, Insurance and Enterprise Accounting, and FP&A. 10%


Minimum Qualifications Required:
Minimum Education (Required):
Bachelor's Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) in Accounting or related field required


Minimum Work Experience (Required):
7+ years of relevant experience required

Preferred Experience:
Public accounting experience with a national firm

Preferred Education:
Master's degree in Arts/Sciences (MA/MS) MBA Preferred


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong foundation of accounting, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and current financial issues to assist in accurate and timely reporting and analysis of financial data.
Consistently exercise agility, independent judgement and discretion on matters of significance.Multi-task and manage different personalities in a high volume, deadline driven environment while understanding the flow of processes in the enterprise resource planning system, SAP.Accountability to hire, train, evaluate, coach and counsel professional staff, while managing, planning, organizing, and coordinating activities of professional staff.Ability to communicate financial information clearly and concisely to financial leaders.
