ROLE OVERVIEW:

This position is responsible to plan, direct and coordinate activities of the Ready-Mix product line to achieve business objectives and maximize profits. It is responsible for overall management of the Ready-Mix Product line, including:



  • Plant safety
  • Financial oversight
  • Workforce management and supervision
  • Strategic planning and investment
  • Plant operations and maintenance
  • Ready Mix Drivers
  • Marketing and customer service


DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES (summary of components that make up the job)



  1. Develop, implement and support organization policies and goals. Create and reinforce a safety culture. Conduct frequent safety observations to ensure compliance with established safety guidelines. Detect and correct potential hazards.
  2. Set hiring and performance standards for the Ready-Mix workforce. Develop the knowledge, skills and abilities of Ready-Mix personnel. Communicate policies, programs, and operational requirements to subordinates.
  3. Oversee all Ready-Mix operations and activities. Develop management control systems. Gather, review and analyze information from all relevant sources to detect or assess problems. Evaluate options to make sound decisions to resolve issues. Confers with customers and representatives of associated industries to evaluate and promote improved and expanded services in area.
  4. Ensure profitability of Ready-Mix. Develop operating budgets and forecast expenses. Analyze division budget requests and make budget allocations. Work with administrative personnel to get reports needed to monitor results. Review reports and determine changes in programs or operations required to achieve division objectives. Monitor vendor relationships to ensure that purchased products and services meet quality and pricing requirements.
  5. Achieve high levels of customer satisfaction by manufacturing quality products, providing good value for the money and delivering excellent customer service. Direct and coordinate promotion of products and services to develop new markets, increase share of market, and achieve a competitive position in the industry. Promote the organization through industry, manufacturing or trade association activities.
  6. Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (minimum educational, experience, or other relevant job requirements)



  1. Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university and one to two years related experience

  3. Ability to provide and maintain proper licensure and acceptable driving record
