Assoc Director of Community Engagement & Outreach (Comm Outreach Prog Mgr (HEA)), Interdisciplinary Wellness Center, Division of the Provost Job ID: 31849 Location: Hunter College Full/Part Time: Full-Time Regular/Temporary: Regular POSITION DETAILS The Interdisciplinary Wellness Center at Hunter College of The City University of New York invites applications for a position as Associate Director of Community Engagement & Outreach at the rank of Higher Education Associate. This is a fulltime appointment beginning Spring 2026 with a renewable yearly contract. Upon reappointment for the ninth year of service, the employee obtains a Certificate of Continuous Administrative Service (CCAS). In addition to CUNY Title Overview, the Associate Director of Community Engagement & Outreach will be responsible for but are not limited to managing the day-today operations of our Clubhouse, a community space located on the 3rd floor of 142 W 36th Street in Manhattan. This is a multi-purpose space offering our partners – community-based health-service organizations working with populations across New York City that have experienced historically reduced access to culturally responsive and quality services – with access to office space, large meeting space, and a welcoming place for social gatherings and community building. The Clubhouse is an integral part of Hunter’s new Interdisciplinary Wellness Center. The Clubhouse operates in tandem with our training clinic on the 9th floor of 142 W 36th Street. That clinic provides brief mental health and substance use treatment to the New York City community on a sliding scale basis. Services are delivered by Hunter College student trainees under supervision that is organized by their respective programs. The Interdisciplinary Wellness Center is overseen by a steering committee that consists of faculty from the departments that contribute to the Center’s mission. The Associate Director will report to the committee and work collaboratively with its faculty under direction from the Special Adviser of Community Engagement and Public Partnerships. Clubhouse management involves overseeing the work of 2-5 peer support staff. In addition, the Associate Director of Community Engagement is expected to lead the development and organization of programmatic activities that catalyze community engagement. They will work closely with the Clinic Director to facilitate the synergistic operation of both units in the Interdisciplinary Wellness Center. QUALIFICATIONS The successful applicant must demonstrate the skills necessary to manage the activities of a dynamic social space and interface with community members and collaborating organizations, as well as the clinic director, clubhouse staff, and members of Hunter’s faculty. Although candidates with a Master’s level degree and experience with administration and community organization are preferred, qualified candidates with bachelor’s degree and six years’ related experience will be considered. Experience in program administration, group facilitation, and workshop-style training at community-based organizations is valued. The position requires managerial skills. Peer support staff are members of the communities served by the Interdisciplinary Wellness Center. Ideal candidates will be enthusiastic for the opportunity to mentor these staff toward their professional development goals that will help them further their careers. The position also involves extensive collaboration with staff at the Interdisciplinary Wellness Center and our community partners. Preferred candidates will demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, expressive and receptive communication skills, as well as strong organizational skills. Preferred candidates will share our passion for bringing together academic and community partners to build community and delivery better access to health and wellness services in New York City. CUNY TITLE Higher Education Associate FLSA Exempt COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS Salary commensurate with education and experience within the range for this title (currently $86,741-$102,408).
