Overview:

Olgoonik is an engineering/construction company specializing in facilities construction, operations, and repair, is seeking candidates for the position of Construction Quality Control Inspector. This is a full-time, year-round position with commensurate salary and benefits.

The Construction Quality Control (QC) Inspector plays a critical role in ensuring that construction projects meet all specified standards, codes, and client requirements. This position involves conducting thorough inspections and tests on materials, workmanship, and processes throughout the construction lifecycle to guarantee compliance with quality and safety regulations. The QC Inspector collaborates closely with Project Managers, Engineers, and Contractors to identify and resolve any quality issues promptly, thereby minimizing delays and cost overruns. By maintaining detailed documentation and reports, the inspector supports continuous improvement and accountability on site. Ultimately, this role ensures that the final construction deliverables are safe, reliable, and meet or exceed industry standards, contributing to the overall success of the project and client satisfaction.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Administer the Quality Control Program by preparing QC plans and reports, field inspections of work in progress (3 phase inspections), conducting or obtaining material tests, preparing reports, and coordination with government inspectors.
  • Coordinate field work with project managers.
  • Review subcontractor material, approved submittals and shop drawings, and check the construction for compliance.
  • Assure red line (as-builts) drawings are kept up to date in the field.
  • Maintain and administer the company's safety plan and ensure safe field practices.
  • Participate and enforce in the company safety program
  • Administer the Quality Control Program utilizing field inspections of work in progress, conducting or obtaining material tests, preparing daily reports, and coordinating with superintendents and Government Inspectors.
  • Coordinate field work with Superintendents.
  • Perform regular inspections of construction materials, equipment, and workmanship to verify compliance with project specifications and regulatory standards.
  • Document inspection results, prepare detailed reports, and communicate findings to project stakeholders to facilitate timely corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and project managers to address quality issues and implement corrective measures effectively.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and quality control procedures on-site to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Review construction plans, specifications, and quality control documentation to understand project requirements and quality benchmarks.
  • Participate in quality audits and assist in the development and improvement of quality control processes and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • This position requires travel to jobs located within the state of Arkansas and southern Missouri.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in construction or quality control is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction quality control or inspection roles.
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and quality standards applicable to the United States.
  • Familiarity with relevant codes, regulations, and safety standards such as OSHA and ASTM.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Interpersonal skills sufficient to positively influence employees and subcontractors to actively support QC programs.
  • Experience with a multi-million-dollar construction program including all elements required to oversee the quality control aspects of the projects.
  • Demonstrate a good attitude and ability to work as a member of a team.
  • Position requires self-motivation and the ability to work effectively under a minimum of supervision.
  • Ability to multi-task efficiently, work in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects and have a strong attention for detail.
  • Advance knowledge in Microsoft Suite products including Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
  • Ability to pass a basic Federal Government background check.
  • The Construction QC Inspector utilizes their technical knowledge and attention to detail daily to assess construction quality and ensure compliance with standards.
  • Strong communication skills are essential for effectively reporting findings and collaborating with diverse project teams to resolve issues.
  • Analytical skills enable the inspector to interpret complex drawings and specifications, as well as to evaluate test results accurately.
  • Time management and organizational skills are critical for conducting inspections systematically and maintaining thorough documentation.
  • Proficiency with inspection tools and software enhances efficiency and accuracy in quality control processes.
  • Working knowledge of USACE EM 385-1-1 preferred.
  • Experience with specialized inspection equipment and testing tools preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Corps of Engineers Quality Management for Contractors Certificate is required or the ability to acquire it when an instructor lead class is offered.
  • 30 Hour OSHA Certification.
