Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC) located in scenic Upstate NY is a multi-campus College with locations in Troy and Malta New York. HVCC offers more than 80 degree and certificate programs in three schools: Business and Liberal Arts; Health Sciences; and Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). Hudson Valley is one of 30 community colleges in the State University of New York (SUNY) system and serves nearly 9,000 students each year. The college is a recognized leader in career and transfer preparation, workforce training initiatives, distance learning and service to a diverse population of students. Hudson Valley has an extension center in Malta, NY known as HVCC North and sponsors the Capital District Educational Opportunity Center in Troy, NY. QUALIFICATIONS FOR EMPLOYMENT Education (Minimum Qualifications): NATURE AND SCOPE OF DUTIES The Comptroller reports to the Chief Fiscal Officer or their designee and performs the following duties: A. Directs the Accounting, Bursar, and/or Accounts Payable staff to ensure efficient daily financial operations. B. Ensures adherence to GAAP/GASB standards. C. Responsible for cash management, including decision making, recordkeeping and reporting, cash flow planning, and all aspects of banking business and reconciliations. F. Ensures alignment with established financial policies and procedures and best practices to safeguard College assets. G. Responsible for all financial aspects, in person and on-line, as it relates to the student registration process and all related accounting and internal controls in coordination with the Bursar office operations. In addition, responsible for timely billings to counties (county chargebacks) and state related to student enrollment. H. Responsible for the supervision of the Accounts Payable Department and all issues related to the payment of vendors in accordance with institutional guidelines. I. Responsible for all of the College's fiscal reporting to federal, state, local entities. J. Conduct departmental assessments and unit plans in compliance with institutional goals and objectives. K. Other duties as assigned This is a 12-month, Full-Time position with a salary range of $85,000-$90,000.
