The Director of FP&A for Performance Materials will shape the segment's financial direction through forecasting, long-range planning, and insight-driven analysis. This role serves as a key strategic partner to operations, commercial, and executive leadership. Based in North Charleston, SC, the Director of FP&A for Performance Materials will report to the Senior Director of FP&A. This role does not have any direct reports; however, resources within the larger FP&A team will provide analytic support for both ad hoc analysis and monthly reporting, as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of the consolidated Performance Materials segment financial forecast and annual plan (~$600MM annual revenue segment). You will be responsible for working with stakeholders throughout the business to ensure alignment of financial targets: commercial, plant controllers, S&OP, technical & business leadership.
  • Own and develop the long-range financial planning and forecasting models for Performance Materials. This includes translating external market data to internal revenue projections and ultimately full P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow projections.
  • Perform and provide monthly financial reporting and analysis of the financial results for Performance Materials. This includes consolidated financial statement variance analysis, sales variance analysis & reporting, and EBITDA reconciliation versus relevant comparison periods (plan, forecast, prior year, etc.)
  • Serve as a key financial partner and thought leader to business leadership
  • Deliver ad hoc reporting and modeling for business financial decisions and work closely with business leaders to ensure alignment of financial goals and objectives
  • Own and manage budgeting, forecasting, actual reporting, and monthly cost center review meetings for SG&A for Performance Materials
  • Assist the Senior Director of FP&A with enhancing business analysis by identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the FP&A function; organize data into logical communication and messages that support business decisions

What you need to succeed:

  • An undergraduate degree in Finance or Accounting; MBA or CPA preferred
  • 10-15 years' experience working in financial analysis, including budgeting, forecasting, and modeling
  • Current or prior experience working within a manufacturing company (required)
  • Understanding of U.S. GAAP and accounting
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI, advanced modeling automation, ERP experience (SAP a plus)
  • Strong financial, quantitative, and analytical skills required with knowledge in various modeling methodologies, including DCF modeling and various other measures of ROI and TVM
  • Driven, self-starter, bias towards decision making, and able to overcome obstacles and see projects through to completion
  • Strong business acumen, organizational skills, and attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work cross-functionally; ability to communicate effectively with diverse technical and non-technical teams
  • Business travel of approximately 10-15%
