What you'll do:
- Perform tinplate inspection, size, thickness, burr direction, off quality, etc.
- Check plate identification and accuracy of mill, coil resort and coating tickets as well as end C.O.C. and pallet identification.
- Assures proper job set up including plate, end, compound, C.O.C. and specs.
- Perform in process tests such as contamination tests, enamel rating, compound film weights, copper sulfate test, water test, strip weights, enamel slitter/scroll registration, axial & panel test, etc.
- Check and record can and end physical dimensions.
- Check sheet length, squareness, and related inspections.
- Water test, tester rejects - inspect as needed to maintain acceptable quality level.
- Check function ability of testers.
- Visually inspect all operations at company prescribed frequencies.
- Remove defective production from lines, issue Hol Work Sheets as needed to conform to company standards.
- Accurately record tests, inspections, and related data, including computer data input.
- Initiate H.F.I.'s, accurately identify discrepant material and maintain record of same.
- Work with mechanics, operating personnel and supervision to ensure quality products.
- Perform warehouse sampling inspections.
- Inspect outgoing packaging for off quality, identification, etc.
- Ensure the reliability and quality of plate, end, and can sorting.
- Perform related work assignments as required.
- Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
- Formulates chemical solutions as needed.
- Perform assigned duties in a self-sustaining manner with minimum supervision or direction.
- Work any shift as designated
- Gain experience through on-the-job training
- Gain knowledge of production lines, equipment, and quality standards
We need you to have:
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Experience using computers, copiers, calculators, scanners, and printers.
Requirements:
- 18 years of age
- Must meet prerequisite job-related test scores.
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Able to push, pull, bend, stoop, climb stairs, and lift 30 pounds on a regular basis.
- Pass background check, physical exam, and drug screening.
