We're actively seeking a talented Senior Tax Information Reporting Specialist to join our Corporate Tax department in Newport Beach, CA or in our brand-new office in downtown Charlotte, NC.

As a Senior Tax Information Reporting Specialist you'll move Pacific Life, and your career, forward by working closely with external vendors and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure that tax withholding reporting requirements are met. You will fill an existing role that sits on a team of twelve people in the Corporate Division.

How you'll help move us forward:

  • Responsible for overseeing external co-sourcing partner who 1) prepares tax information returns, including 1099s (all types), 1042-S, and other required forms, and 2) prepares daily tax withholding deposits to ensure that all tax reporting deadlines are met

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Divisions, Treasury, Accounting/Finance, IT, Legal) and external vendors to ensure accurate and timely reporting

  • Respond to inquiries from tax authorities and internal stakeholders regarding tax information reporting

  • Documenting tax reporting policies and procedures and internal controls as the business develops and grows

  • Identify process improvements to enhance efficiency of information tax reporting processes

  • Advisor for tax reporting related matters including being a liaison between Company's various business divisions and the external vendors

  • Assist with research and documentation of tax reporting technical issues

  • Assist with other tax projects as needed

The experience you bring:

  • 4+ years of experience in tax information reporting or related field with life insurance operations experience preferred

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

  • Strong technical, analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively to meet and manage responsibilities under tight time frames

  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written

  • Ability to work independently and proactively with minimal guidance

  • Process improvement mindset

  • Tech-savvy with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and tax reporting software (1099Pro, MasterTax, OneSource)

Base Pay Range:

The base pay range noted represents the company's good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.

$113,490.00 - $138,710.00
