Sr. Building Attendant

Summary

Responsible for performing semi-skilled manual labor work in keeping offices, buildings and surrounding grounds in a clean and orderly condition.

Pay Range: $17.40 - $19.25

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Maintain City facilities' flooring by sweeping, mopping, shampooing and scrubbing.

• Clean woodwork, furniture, desk, chairs, filing cabinets and telephones.

• Complete detailed vacuuming of carpets and other applicable surfaces.

• Maintain sanitary condition of facilities by cleaning sinks, mirrors, countertops, toilets and drinking fountains.

• Complete special projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)

• 5 years related experience

• Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

Preferred Qualifications

Education/ Experience:

• 5-7 years experience in maintenance, custodial services or similar experience

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• General knowledge of maintenance upkeep

• Skill in operating general cleaning maintenance equipment

• Ability to work to make independent decisions

• Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with City personnel

Licenses and Certifications

• Valid Class C Texas Driver's License

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

The incumbent works in an outdoor and indoor environment; with occasional exposure to unpleasant environmental conditions or hazards. Requires ability to carry 20 to 30 pounds. Tasks require physical labor, exposure to dust and cleaning chemicals.
