Scope of Work

The Creative Services Manager of Copy and Brand Voice will help co-lead and build a best-in-class internal creative services department. Reporting to the Director of Brand and Creative, this role will help nurture, govern and execute on the Corewell Health brand voice across different platforms, teams and channels. You must be a strong conceptual thinker with an ability to flex writing style based on situational need and an expert on effectiveness in digital, print, web, collateral and ad copy. This role needs a writing leader with a strong grasp of message hierarchy, tone, voice and narrative structures who will be writing, consulting and directing. The manager should be experienced with developing standards and comfortable developing AI brand voice agents. The Manager of Copy and Brand Voice balances written creative direction, direct copywriting and brand governance. It requires an ability to think strategically and creatively to solve for brand fit. Must possess a love of language, a passion for building brands, an ability to coach others, and a style range that can adapt for different copy needs and audiences.

Essential Functions

Creative Direction

  • Direct the design and creation of all advertising, communication and marketing projects-both internal and external.

  • Collaborate with brand and service line marketing for the creation of promotional, retention and training materials, campaign materials, and event materials.

  • Set initial creative direction and provide creative critique and constructive feedback for Creative Team and external marketing and creative partners.

  • Provide photo and video shoot creative direction, pre-planning support, on-site art direction and post-production management.

  • Assist with the design and creative direction for special corporate and leadership projects.

  • Assist in the assignment of project and tasks with a thorough understanding of each Creative Team member's skills and talents

  • Provide creative oversight at a high-level, making connections between projects, initiatives and teams as needed.

  • Provide design support for the Creative Team with hands-on design execution and production.

  • Develop guidelines for and manage the proper use of company related communications (photo, logos, colors, type).

  • Provide creative insight, inspiration, and guidance as a leader of the Creative Team.

  • Stay up-to-date with current design trends, production techniques, UX/UI trends, etc.

  • Encourage and inspire healthy collaboration across teams.

Strategy

  • Focus on coordinating the creative strategy in collaboration with the corporate brand director.

  • Work closely with the brand and service line marketing to collaborate on marketing strategies that support short- and long-term business objectives.

  • Continue to develop and evolve the Corewell Health brand, keeping it unique, engaging and current in the market.

  • Work closely with the Brand team to translate the brand, brand campaigns and initiatives across all lines of business and all materials.

  • Assist in annual planning of imagery creation-collaborating with leaders across all categories and to assess and develop a plan based on specific needs.

Production + Management

  • Participate and lead virtual and in-person presentations, creative reviews, weekly team meetings, working sessions, etc.

  • Work closely with the team to plan project schedules and reviews and utilize existing systems and project management applications to ensure all deadlines and budgets are adhered to.

  • Develop and maintain healthy collaborative working relationships across all teams.

  • Supervise administration of marketing project management systems.

  • Supervise corporate literature store functions.

  • Oversee all direct mail and fulfillment projects.

  • Oversee/direct the design of Corewell Health's external web page.

  • Maintain quality accountability and develop good working relationships with external vendors.

  • Review and plan annual budgets; approve vendor invoices and team expenditures.

  • Work closely with HR to develop guidelines for gathering candidates, review and write job descriptions, review candidates, and conduct interviews.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in related field. Required

  • 5 years of relevant experience in print process, digital, and advertising production. Required

  • Agency experience preferred.

  • Experience in DTC and B2B marketing. Preferred

  • SEO experience. Preferred

  • Familiarity with digital marketing technologies such as Contentstack and Salesforce. Preferred
